The Vikings would often consult with shamans when trying to divine the will of the Gods. These individuals would be the conduit between worlds, using many different methods to translate prophecy (mostly involving now banned herbs and mushrooms).
Our shaman is Gudbrand Soultaker. Gudbrand wanders the battlefield collecting the heads of the fallen so he can offer their souls to Odin as slaves in the afterlife. He's often kept at a distance by other Vikings due to his mystical abilities and rather a pungent body odour when upwind.
