Copyright & Printing Information

The files provided include an unsupported STL that you can support yourself for 3D printing and a supported version of the STL that is the same as the one we use in production. Where a building is printed in multiple parts by us we have included the option to print as separate components or as a single piece.

There are many factors that can affect the results of your print. It is important to know your machine and its quirks in order to get the best results.

The world of 3D printing is an exciting but sometimes daunting one. At WARHOST we have spent many hours testing and experimenting to get the best results from our machines.

There are many factors that can impact the results of a print from humidity to FEP tension and even the type of resin used and the screen type of the machine.

We would like to encourage everyone using these files to do their research and learn the ins and outs of their own machine to achieve the best results possible.

New to printing?

If you are fairly new to 3D printing then we highly recommend watching these ChiTuBox tutorials by 3D Printing Pro:

Which Machine

At WARHOST we use Epax Printers for producing our pre printed kits. A combination of the Epax X1-K and the Epax X10 mono. We selected these machines for their build quality and their ability to print day in day out.

ChiTuBox

ChiTuBox is the software used by most when supporting files for printing and it is what we have used to set up files for production. These production files are the ones we have included as pre-supported options as we know they work for us. The settings we use on our Epax machines are generally as follows:

  • Bottom layer count 4
  • Exposure 25 sec
  • Lift speed 80mm/min
  • Standard layer height 0.05
  • Exposure 1.6 sec
  • Lift speed 100mm/min

We are at pains to stress that this is only a guide and your machine or situation may require different settings.

Temperature

This will depend on your resin, however it is best to keep the area or room your machine is operating in at a constant temperature. If your machine is in a loft and you print overnight you could well find a miss-print the next day caused by the temperature difference over the length of the print.
